I dont know how 2007 has been for you, but it's definitely been GREAT for me! And this 2008 will be even better than last year!

During the last month of 2007, we were all so busy with pre-Christmas chalet on 16th Dec, Christmas services and Bazaar(Congrats to Mr. Low and Mr Xie for making profit over the 4 days of hard work!), CELEB-ration 2007 and Thanksgiving dinner at Tian Tian Steamboat, New Year Countdown in town.

You must be searching for the photos right.... hehe.

I would like to invite all of you to www.yanslife.multiply.com/photos to retrieve your faces at the photo albums! I've decided to move to multiply so i can upload ALL our photos there! =p Maybe we wanna move from Blogspot to Multiply too? So we can have our OWN photo album website too?

15th Sept was the "So You Think You Can Sing" Competition. Although we had no finalists to support once again, but we turned out in as full a force as we can, in support of Joe and John, EW zone's representatives.

But there were 3 of us who did more behind the scenes...

3 of us, though cannot sing, rose above the occasion and did ourselves proud...

3 of us, self-professed artistically challenged, sacrificed on behalf of the cell, to contribute to the resounding support that Joe and John received...

3 of us... Did two fantastic placards!

(By our standards, it deserves applause!! Come on!!)

Ruixuan and Daniel, I'm so proud of you both! I concussed at around 2am... having slept 4 out of 48hrs prior to Friday... Ruixuan, who came straight from camp, tired as he might be, tahan until 3plus... Daniel then took initiative to continue working on Ruixuan's work, completing it before concussing, not knowing he has overcome his "我的art fail 的!" mindset... by which time I have awaken to complete my half done job... what a nite we had at Daniel's house... 3 warriors withstood the test of our physical limits and release our creativity... knowing we gotta pull it off. haha... And we did, by God's grace.

By His grace, I had the energy to last the whole morning with the BB Boys at Pasir Ris Park, then took a 50min long nap on the MRT and 10-min long nap at LRT (REALLY God's grace, cos I slept soundly from Pasir Ris MRT all the way until Clementi, I woke to alight at Jurong East, then the same happened on the LRT...hehe)... And this helped me sustain till all the way until 12midnight. Phew!!!

All these cos of procrastination... resulting in last min work for assignments... resulting in sleep being robbed... so moral of story, guys... as my NIE project mates would say to me... "No more last min work!" How are we gonna attract others to our lifestyle and walk with God unless we are always rising above the occasions and battles... so time to really sit down and get things done, get things right!! Though God sustained me, I believe He wants us to be a better testimony than this. Do not neglect your time discipline.

Let's appear before all with bountifuls of energy, always enthusiastic to take on challenges and complete our tasks ahead of time despite the many commitments... and show that with God, all things are possible!

Let's go all out to invite our friends to church and make them feel at home! With this week's singing audition after service, I have invited 2 friends for service as well! You may like to also invite friends who love to sing and encourage them to join the competition!

One person cannot grow a cg him/herself. However, we can do it as a team! Let's bring on the fire of being soulwinners!

Let's not give up when we're rejected. Continue to have faith in God!

Hey guys! :) You all have been greatly missed! Hope all has been well in W411.
Well, this will probably be my last entry here. Nonetheless, I just wanna clarify some confused minds and appreciate some individuals.

Well, if you've wondered "Eh? Why Shufeng not around with us in Cell Group and service har?" in the course of the past 2 or 3 weeks.. That's because Shufeng has made a transfer over to N125, Eric's adult Cell Group.

Be rest assured that the decision over has nothing to do with me feeling unloved or unappreciated for by you guys. You guys are awesome! Seriously speaking, I'll never want to leave you guys, given a selfish choice to. But like what Eric said, "You'll need to be an adult to your students in order to impact them. You can't be a youth to them." Thus, for my own betterment and that of my future students, I've decided to go over.

"Change is the only constant in life"

Having been involved with the youth congregation for all my life since I was saved, made me neglect and foresee the potential there is in the adult congregation. Somehow, they're always looked upon as the 'inactive' and 'boring' group of believers. The past 2+ weeks in N125 has completely changed my views. Fellowship and sharing was at a much deeper level, praise and worship was magnificent with His presence pouring down from heaven each time. Perhaps its got something to do with the maturity of the members. Take no offense that I'm saying youths are immature. Hey, I'm still a youth too! :p You guys can do awesome things adults can't. And now that I'm no longer in a youth CG, I wished I did more than what I did in those happy days in W295/W411. Cherish the days of your youth!

Emotions aside, let me assure you guys that my transfer into N125 has been a rather smooth one. I'm getting to know a lot of high-flying adults, people way more experienced than I am in the 'world' out there. Being the 2nd-youngest in the 'age hierarchy system'(i.e. I'm the 2nd youngest one in N125), puts me in a peculiar yet interesting position to 'look up' to everyone else and learn from them. It's a great humbling process and there's indeed A LOT to learn from their faith, beliefs, experience and life.

(Yes, I know I'm very long-winded. It's an "art" I've learnt to make my exam essays longer. Haha.. :p)

Just wanna encourage you guys to keep on keeping on. To keep believing that Yes, the CG WILL grow and multiply. Yes, many will rise to be leaders and take positions in various communities to serve God and others. It has perhaps been a tough few weeks without SX, but united as you are, I know W411 will pull through and get out of this stronger in faith and in strength.

Yup, it is a new beginning! This does not mean that the next time you guys see me, I become a one-eye monster from Venus! We're all still friends, and friends keep in contact! I'm more than willing to join you guys for fellowship, movies, birthday celebrations, etc.. So just gimme a buzz and I'll try to be there whenever I can. Oh yes, speaking about that, I've to announce that I lost my hand phone last week. Thus I'll appreciate it if you guys can drop me an SMS so I can have your contacts again.

I'll never forget those days in chalet and what we shared. Your faithfulness has challenged me to want to serve Him more. You'll always be my KBox queen! :)

Michelle: Never would I imagine that we can have so much in common. Your persistence, patience and perseverance has made/will make me great. Thanks for listening me out on the phone so much, even when you're driving. Thanks for being there in the gap during those transitions periods and lending your experience to reassure me "it's gonna be alright". You're an amazing lady, a gem waiting to be discovered (by the man of your life? :p haha...)

Jing Hong: Your gentleness has made/will make me great. The simple faith you have in Christ puts to shame the complexity of mine. Thanks for being the prayer warrior of the CG. Having seen the changes in you over the years, I know for sure that God has something big installed for you as you actively choose to put Him first. Be that powerful weapon that God wants you to be! :)

Aaron: My fellow "right hand" of CG ministry. Without you, my initial integration into CHC would have been disastrous. Thanks for the many extra miles you took for me, blessing me through your acts of service. Your friendship is one that I'll definitely keep & I know for sure we'll still be playing lan games or chilling at some cool cafe together with the 'inner circle'. Your constant pursuit for upward mobility and self-improvement challenges my seemingly stagnant growth. It was with great pleasure that I served the CG with you. You've been a terrific pacer!

Daniel: You're the pistachio (开心果) of the CG! Thanks for brightening up those dull days by your bubbly personality. And of course, thanks for this CG blog, which without, I won't be able to express myself to you guys. You're an awesome brother. Keep trusting the Lord and leaning on Him for strength yea? :)

Rui Xuan: Seen you grown so much over the years. Your persistence in faith has been a source of inspiration to me. You're unique, you're different. Thanks for taking time to mail me all my 'narcissistic' photos. I've been blessed by your warm friendship.

Zong Xing: Ever since your entry into W411, I've always looked to you as an example of dynamic faith in action. Your proactive and enthusiastic personality has rubbed off the entire CG. I appreciate your honest & reflective sharing. Indeed, you are an individual who demonstrates ownership of what God has placed in your hands. Way to go, brother! :)

Marklin: Mr Drama-papa! :) Not only do you have a flare for acting, you've a gift to inspire! Use it to its fullest potential and find yourself impact lives you've never imagined. Thanks for your candid praises about how I look & how great I am. Your simple words of encouragement has helped me to keep on keeping on. Remember that little green card you wrote to me last yr at christmas? It's still in my Bible and I read it once in ahile whenever I'm feeling low to encourage myself. That's how powerful your words can be. Keep shining mann!~

HELLO!

Let me keep you guys in our plannings too! I'll be updating constantly with the newest plans in XY's town! HAHAHAHA. crap.

Anyway, 8th August we'll be having an overnight KTV session, not as a CG, but all are invited! Probably at Cine so we can sing or zzz till 6am! You'll be entertained by all the singers! Yours truly. We shall all be the Stars that night! hahaha. Don't worry, i wont hold the mic so tightly that you wont have a chance to sing.

On 9th August, we'll have a "romantic" time watching the fireworks at Esplanade! As we'll be home super early that day.. we may not meet as early as 12pm on 9th. So you'll still be able to get enough rest and prepare for a great night squeezing with our fellow Singaporeans!

Are you guys interested in the Jay Chou's movie coming out on 8th Aug? We may want to catch the show before the fireworks? Please send in your suggestions to me!

Really hope to spend the Public Holiday as a Family Day too! =p Let's invite our loved ones to join us too! It'll definitely be a great fellowship and time spent together! We shall work together to make this CG the most happening, fun, loving, charismatic and all the good words.... CG!

Even as I sat in front of my TV set, I felt the presense of the Holy Spirit as conviction set in again, reminding of those great times God came through during Emerge!06

Bible Quest 2007 (Instructions & Grouping!)

Ladies and gentlemen~ *Drum roll again*,

Introducing to you the long awaited (Or at least i hope so la! ) Bible Quest 2007!

It doesn't really matters if you're new, old (and mouldy) haha. There's a place for everyone to play a part in this competition! I'm thinking of getting great exciting prizes for the winners! (Keep you informed)

It's gona be so so so fun! Reading the Bible will no longer be dead, boring and religious acts of duty again (That's our aim la. Jia you together!).

The Bible Quest 2007!

Test your wits, stretch your Bible knowledge, master the art of slaying your giants with the sword of the spirit! Be enlarged, be stretched, be empowered through the word of God!

Instructions:

Contestants are split into 2 groups and will be tasked to compete with each other through series of challenges.

The competition is divided into 4 segments:

1. General Bible Knowledge
Contestants are required to read and study through the 7 books of the Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts) to answers question in this segment.

2. The Pick-And-Draw Round
Here, everyone in each team will answer secret question(s) based on what they choose from the question bank.

3. Fastest Fingers/ Bible Content’s Page
Always get lost in the word? Don't know where to turn to etc...haha! Each team will send representatives to be challenged in this segment. The quickest person to reach the various verses will score points for their team. As a team, everyone will need to fill in the Bible content’s page. Marks will be penalized from the team with the most number of mistakes.

4. Bonus Round
You will be tested on anything under the sun!

A point system will be adopted for the various segments, the team with the highest score wins!

And, Judge’s decisions are final!

Groupings:
Judges: SweeXiang, ZongXing

Team A- Aaron (Team leader), Xinyan, Mark, Rui Xuan, Brian, Ya Qi, Sebastian

Team B- Shufeng (Team leader), Michelle, Jing Hong, Daniel, Alexander, XiuXian, Hui Xiang

Team leader's role are to encourage team-mates to read up on the 7 books and prepare them for this event!

Please be reminded that we all need to read through the following books of the Bible, as they will be tested during the Bible challenge, they are:

Prayer Buddy System

Dear Cg,

As Swee Xiang has mentioned last week, we’re implementing a new prayer system as of this week. This is how it works:

Instead of the usual monthly prayer list generated by Michelle, we will pair up to prayer for our prayer buddies needs. This will allow deeper sharing of personal prayer needs and problems. We must pray specifically. Right? Every beginning of month, we will rotate buddies so we can get to know everyone better. Prayer buddies are required to meet up or call during WEEKDAYS to pray for each other.

The following is the buddy system for the month of May-June:

Swee Xiang – Hui Xiang – Marklin
Aaron – Rui Xuan – Daniel
Zong Xing - Alex – Brian
Shu Feng – Xiu Xian – Michelle
Xin Yan - Ya Qi – Jing Hong

Who are we?

W411 is a young and vibrant cell group, consisting of a team of devoted and committed members. Our aim is to live out the bible through and through, to change and be more like Jesus in all aspects of life.

Like you, none of us are perfect...but we're committed in loving God wholeheartedly, and loving people fervently.

We do not despise our youth, and believe that while we are yet young, we can all do something great with our lives for God. And that's where we're headed to, "to be blessed,to become a blessing".

Therefore, we willingly accept and answer the call to go out there into the world to bring hope to those living without it; to lend a helping hand to those who can't help themselves; to bring the light of the gospel to those living in darkness...to bring the saving knowledge of Jesus and the cross, to those who have yet to hear of the wonderful things Jesus had done for them.

A team of history maker, willing and ready to emerge for such a time as this as we rewrite the history of tomorrow.
